Newts: The complete care guide

This might stop at any given day, so if there isn't something on here for a while, I probably don't have time to fix it and I might do it later. Also, don't expect this page to remain the same color, I enjoy differences, otherwise it's to boring.

Today, I went to the creek with Rosie, a friend from school,down to the creek to see the baby newt hatchlings, THEY WERE EVERYWHERE!! We caught so many of them. There was so many that we went back to the house for a bucket, and by the time we got back, the sun was down and all the newts were gone. :( Today is the day I began working on this site. Tomorrow there is no school, so I plan to return to the creek, look for newts,try to finish this website(not gonna happen!), pick out my favorite type of newt, change the background, and edit the site.
                                                            ~ Your favorite newt catcher

P.S.: My favorite newt that i caught was Isac, he was brownish with crimson diamond pattern down his back with little red spots in the middle of them. He also had a white belly.

     It is Friday morning, the sun is hardly up and I forgot to tell you a ton of stuff yesterday. For example,it is breeding season, that's why there is so many newts and hatchlings everywhere. Some of the hatchlings may have been a year old, but not old enough to breed. However, a few newts were about a centimeter long from head to tail, some were a centimeter and a half, and some were half a centimeter long. Isac was about 4-5 centimeters long! He was a full adult, I think, I still don't know that much on newts, but I'm gonna learn today! As I said before, I will go down to the creek today when it is sunny, and if it's not, I will be working on this website, choosing my favorite newt, and learning it's name by heart.
                                                                                                     ~ Your bestest newt buddy!
P.S.: I will try to write again after the creek.

*Later That Day*

 I went down to the creek with my friend Max and we played with newt hatchlings. When we got back we polished the empty-soon-to-be-filled newt tank and went down to the creek again. While we were there, a crazy lady started yelling at us, so we left. We got to skip dance class!:D Max spent the night and I am typing this with her in the room. After that, we went to the lake for 2 hours, went to rent a movie, got ice cream and went home. The movie sucked. It was Meet Dave. DON'T SEE IT, IT WAS SOOOOO STUPID AND I SPENT THE ENTIRE MOVIE WAITING FOR IT TO GET GOOD,IT NEVER HAPPENED!‼‼‼‼ Anywho, I have nothing to say so I might write tomorrow.

Saturday, Max has to go home soon. I don't know what I'm gonna do when she leaves, but, I'll find out soon. Anyway, we might go down too the creek today.
 *Later That Day*
  We went down to the creek and caught lots of newts and built habitats to block the current as paddle tail newts do not have very strong toes. No sign of lady.

* Even Later That Day*

            I cleaned the rest of the newt tank, decorated it beautifully only later to realize that there is a huge leak, so now I have to redo EVERYTHING! My family and I are going to get concealer for the glass, maybe it can still work. Now I have to pick a place to put the tank, but before I do, I have to get the measurements for it. Dinner is ready, so I have to go.
 *After Dinner That Day*
Oh my god! that was the best dinner I have had in a while! Anyway, The newts will be going in my room by the bay window on the top of a bookshelf(a very short one!). At least we think so. Ewww... I have to go to school on Monday and I won't see the newts until 3/28. :(.  Well, I have to get the measurements for the tank, so I guess this is goodbye for today. Who knows, I might be back.

* Soon After That*

The book shelf is too small and unstable for my tank. I will be using a wooden side table or search at garage sales. I finally got the photos to work! Measurements for the tank:
L: 20in.
W:10.5 in.
H: 19in.
 Now I'm finally done for today!

     I went to Sunday School and Church. It's kinda cold, so I might not be at the creek today. However, I am looking for newt supplies on petsmart.com and petco.com, so far nothing is found. I going to go read the comics.
* After Comic Reading *
   Comics were OK. I'm gonna call my friend, Helen, because she has a gecko and maybe she can tell me where she got her tank. She got her tank at petco, but she had to go to church, too.

*Later That Day*
    I didn't get to the creek today, but I hung out in the yard. I made a decision with my parents that if I do a series of odd chores, ans saved up money, I could maybe buy a newt from the pet store. I think they said I have to answer some newt questions like Where to put it, $$$ for newt and accessories, Best in pairs or alone, What they eat, and Tank size.

I had to leave dance early so I have time to write, but the sun is still too low for my little buds to be out and swimming.:( Maybe over the weekend I'll see them, but for now with exams and CRCT's coming up, I really don't have time. Over spring break I am not going anywhere, so you can guess where I'll be! Got to go, might write l8r.

Again, sorry about the missed time. Sooo, on April Fools Day i went down to the creek and caught my baby newts. While I was there, a yellow newt with a black stripe down his back and brindle spots darted around, HE WAS HUGE!!!!!!! Today i went to school. It is the start of Spring Break today.
  Not much left to do.                                                                 ~happy Spring Breaker

Second day of spring break. I went down to the creek and saw alot of newts, there were NEWBORNS that were about this big _____ no lie. I was down at what i call newtcenrtal and when I flipped over a rock looking for newts, I saw what looked like bubbles with yellow things in 'em. Then I saw one moved and I took at picture, that will be posted later, and I realized that they were newts eggs! I built a sort of nursery around it made of rocks so that there would be somewhere safe for them to hatch. I can't wait to go back tomorrow!                                                                                                                       ~Newt Nanny
P.S.: I am now an official member of caudata.org!!!!, parents might let me take home the newt eggs before the snow comes again! I added newt baby care today, also.
P.P.S: I also made a post in the forums, maybe help will come! Here is link 4 it.

4/4 On my post , two of the moderators posted with an answer to my question. I wrote back saying thanks for all the help. It might snow soon and I don't want my little egg babies to DIE! :( I'm here trying to convince my parents to let my take them home, and, wel, you NEED to read my post. I'm off to change around The  Eggs and Babies section.
*Later That Day
*
I was down at the creek and I was looking for my little newt eggs, and I COULDN'T FIND THEM!!! I thought someone stole them ,or a raccoon ate them. After 20 min. of searching, my Dad lifted up a rock and said, is this it?. Well, he found them , they are safe, and they are not mine:(!Well ,I watched them for a while, then I started to build new habitats. When I was lifting up a rock, i saw like 1,000,000,000,000 newts!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
* Even Later That Day*
After I came back, I went to the library and got around ten newt books! I got to go, will be back l8r.
* Even Later that day*
Had lunch, Now I am going for a bike ride down at a park. They have a creek, maybe there will be newts!
* After Bike Ride*

No newts, very muddy! Came home am typing this now. I forgot to tell you earlier this morning, I went to pestsmart, and they didn't have any newts or newt stuff other than a 20gal $32 tank that I might buy. Petco didn't have anything.

4/5I don't have anything to say, I just got bored, I might call Rose. Rose came over and we went down to the creek, built some cute little castle like habitats, and saw another yellow newt. She stayed until l five o'clock, then went home for a party. Worked on the tank some more. Mom might let my take home the eggs if it is gonna snow (she doesn't know about newts that much so I gotta help her.) I also went on http://www.caudata.org again today.

I had to take a bunch of stuff off the website today:(, so the stuff on babies is gone and there is a new FAQ up. I found out what the local newts are,  Eurycea bislineata. Well, I didn't really find it out, someone found it for me. I'm gonna go down to the creek today and take pictures of some of the newts to put up under the locals tab.
 *Later That Day*
I can't go to the creek 'cause it's cold, rainy, and I'm sick. The End. Even more is off the site and it is now unpublished cause of Jennewt and Supernewt. zzzzzzzzzzzz tired.
* Later That Day*

I had a nap, and I feel better. I put back the egg section because if it's unpublished, no one can see it.
